We offer solutions utilizing copper vapor (pseudospark thyratron), mercury vapor (ignitron), and solid state (IGBT/thyristor) technologies. We are the North American distributor for Pulsed Technologies Corporation's product line including their copper vapor series of switches.
Our Pseudospark / Thyratron drivers are designed with Pulsed Technologies Ltd's copper vapor series of switches in mind.
Due to their low cost, we import these switches for the North American market to act as ignitron replacements. Pseudospark switches are available with individual parameters up to 50 kV, 200 kA, 100 coulombs. Switching is possible down to 100 volt levels.
The primary functional advantages over ignitrons is on price and orientation. The lack of mercury is more friendly for the environment (and cheaper to dispose of at end of life). Having no liquid mercury has resulted in a switch with no restrictions on orientation.
